Mission
At Cornerstone Church we recognize that a number of people who attend our services may be seasonal. We want you to feel welcome at Cornerstone and have established a Seasonal Member Ministry especially for you.
We use the term “seasonal member” in a broad sense, recognizing that all of us are not members of Cornerstone and may have membership ties to a home church in another location. That said, we all love Cornerstone, and want to share in Christian love and fellowship while we are here in Florida. Our Seasonal Member Ministry is designed to enable that and has four objectives:
- Connect Seasonal Members with one another
- Integrate Seasonal Members into the Cornerstone Church family
- Provide Service & Ministry opportunities that fit with part-time residency
- Leverage the special talents and gift of our Seasonal Members
One of the ways we do this is by maintaining a Seasonal Member Directory, which includes photos and personal information. Please contact Jim Tankersley at (513) 257-5712 if you would like to be included in the directory or receive a copy.
Welcome Reception
One of the highlights of our Seasonal Member ministry held each year is the Seasonal Member Welcome Reception. This reception is held at a seasonal member’s home and is a wonderful time of fellowship and reconnecting with one another. In addition, the senior pastor and other staff members provide an update on what has been happening at Cornerstone while we have been “up north.”
Fellowship Groups
All of the Cornerstone fellowship groups are open to seasonal members. This includes couples groups, men’s bible study groups, and women’s bible study groups. Please see the Cornerstone bulletin each week for a list of fellowship groups or talk to our Connections Pastor, Ted Hamm at (941) 323-7818.
Ministry Opportunities
We believe it is important to provide service and ministry opportunities to our Seasonal Members. To that end we have identified a number of ministry opportunities that fit well with part-time residency. Seasonal Members are involved in our IMPACT service weekends, Re-Habitat for Humanity, greeting, and ushering to name a few. If you have a special talent, gift, or ministry from your home church we would love to talk to you about it.
