What is the Imagine the Impact Campaign?
Imagine the Impact is a vision for increasing Cornerstone’s effectiveness to gather, to equip, and to send our congregation into greater and more purposeful kingdom activity. In October, 2010, Cornerstone opened its new welcome center and classroom wing. The initial Imagine the Impact Campaign officially ends in 2011; however, our vision for increasing our facilities and ministry capabilities continues. IMAGINE THE IMPACT FOR GOD’S KINGDOM IN OUR COMMUNITY AND BEYOND!
We desire to . . .
- Build additions to our current facility that will enhance our ability to continue to GATHER new families in Lakewood Ranch and the surrounding area.
- Build additions to our current facility that will enhance our ability to EQUIP our church family for further maturity and activity for Christ.
- Refocus our ministry so that we are much more committed to SENDING our congregation into Lakewood Ranch, the surrounding communities, and around the world in missional activity.
We have been blessed to . . .
- Complete a large part of our new facility that will meet the needs of our congregation and help us to reach our neighbors for Christ.
- Raise over 2.2 million dollars from our congregation over the last three years to build this tool for ministry.
- Give 10% of all that is raised in this campaign for two great purposes. 5% will go to further fund our world missions program and 5% will be designated to help us focus our congregation on local missional activity.
- Establish a new pattern of ministry at Cornerstone called Impact Weekends. Three times a year we ask every member and attender to work together and donate their time with others in our church family for missional activity to our neighbors to show the love of Christ. On these weekends, we have many “projects” to help you find a place to show the love of God in word and deed. We expect this new pattern of ministry to help us become more of a team-oriented church, strategically involved in loving and reaching our neighbors, and demonstrating that becoming a mature Christian means spiritual activity for others.
Our current new facilities are allowing us to . . .
- Provide space for a great children’s program. This includes an indoor playground, large group meeting space for kids and additional classrooms.
- Provide space for a great teen ministry.
- Provide space for fellowship. This area includes a coffee shop and a large welcome area.
- Provide space for adult Christian education and counseling during the week.
- Provide space for more people in worship. In addition to opening our new wing for classrooms and welcome center, we have expanded our existing welcome center to offer more seating capacity.
Our next focus is to . . .
- Provide additional space for more people in worship. As our congregation grows, we plan to finish the new worship center in our recently completed addition. It will be a multi-purpose room which will double as a gym on weekdays and a place for church-wide socials.
- Provide space for an even bigger and better teen ministry. This includes a youth loft and a gymnasium for activities.
- Provide additional space for adult Christian education and counseling. We also envision Bible College and Seminary classes at Cornerstone.
Our future will hold . . .
- Church Planting and/or Satellite Campuses to continue to reach more lives for the glory of God.
- An additional phase building program on our current property in future years.
